At this point in my life, I have to balance paying for a lot of things, all while on a minimum wage salary. To be honest it gets hard, learning how to manage your money is difficult when you are earning it. The most important thing you can do is manage your priorities before your wants.
If you love to shop like I do, it can be difficult resisting the urge to go shopping or make online purchases. I have found a few great ways to buy cheap clothes and I want all of you to know!
One of the best ways to get a good deal on clothes is to check out consignment shops. A good amount of clothes in these stores offer unique lightly worn pieces under $10. Going for a search in your town’s thrift stores can be a lot of fun and you will find some great pieces that you can make your own. One of my favorites is Plato’s Closet, a consignment shop that has relatively newer clothing from only recent years. You can also turn in your clothes at Plato’s Closet and get money back! If you are more interested in shopping online, take a look at websites like Zaful, Romwe, and Pretty Little Thing. My favorite thing to buy on these sites are bathing suits and going out clothes. You can often find dresses for under $40 and bathing suits under $20. They are constantly updating their shelves and all of their items are priced very low. If you sign up for the email chain, you could even save more money on your first purchase, and they will routinely email you about sales. The only downside about these websites is that some shoppers have reported that shipping times can be extensive.
If you’re interested in consignment shops, but don’t have the time to go pick through the racks, check out the app Poshmark. After making a profile detailing your sizing and brand preferences, the app will make suggestions of what you may be interested in. Clothes are listed by people just like you, some are lightly worn while others still have the tags still on them. If you have a certain product in mind you can search it as well. You will find higher end brands like Louis Vuitton or Lilly Pulitzer, or moderately priced brands like American Eagle. All items are listed at a discounted rate because they are second hand. Feel free to list your own clothes as well to make a quick buck!
