At some point during high school, almost all american teenagers have the opportunity to go to prom. Planning it takes up a huge amount of time and the month of may practically revolves around arrangements for the dance. What a lot of girls struggle with is finding the perfect dress that makes them feel confident and doing their hair and makeup in a way that suits their face and the dress. Different dresses call for different types of hairstyles so I have compiled a list 0f hairstyles that are doable, will withstand the dancefloor and what dress types they are suitable for.
- Half-up Half-down
This hairstyle is perfect for a dress that has an open back or a scoop back. If you wear your hair this way, it’s better with this dress style that has a low back so your hair isn’t covering any of the design.
2. Low Ponytail
A low ponytail is elegant and simple and can work with just about any dress. A low ponytail is for girls who want their hair pulled back and out of their face, but also have it be loose at the same time.
3. Voluminous Bun
Buns are a go-to hairstyle when you don’t have much time. Since your hair is completely pinned up, it gives more attention to your dress. So if you would like to accentuate your dress, having a bun is a great choice.
4. Side Swept Curls
I love this hairstyle because I love big, voluminous curls. They are so elegant and feminine. Side swept curls have been a timeless hairstyle for decades. This style is much more sophisticated than just curling your hair and leaving it as it is. Bringing the curls to one side will emphasize your face and neckline.
5. Braided Updo
Adding braids to any hairstyle will make any style like textured and unique. Although they are a staple hairstyle, they can be pulled off in so many ways. It is a great way to bring your hair back and out of your face while appearing to be intricate and formal.
