Get Ready With Me For Prom!

The day that all of us high school seniors were waiting for finally arrived: prom day. The angst and relief was finally over as I woke up that morning ready to take on the day. I had plenty of tasks to fill that day in order to get ready for the dance. As you continue to read most likely be overwhelmed with the process I took to get ready for a few hours on the dance floor.

The first thing I did in the morning was shower. Partly because I had an appointment to get my hair done at noon, and partly because I got a spray tan and it needed to be washed off. I went to a local salon that does custom airbrushes, but one of my favorite chains is Zoom Tan, which has spray tanning and sunless tanning.

Deciding what hairstyle for prom can make or break your look. It is important to take into consideration the shape of your face, your hair texture and dress style when deciding a hairstyle. I like to have my hair loose because I have a round face. However I did want it to be pulled back so I decided on a low pony tail. In order to have the hairstyle look more unique, my hairdresser added twists and hair accessories.

After my hair appointment it was time to pick up the flowers. I picked them up because the florist was closer to my house than my date’s. I decided to get a bouquet because I think they are prettier than a corsage. Either is acceptable at a prom. We decided on white roses and a blue ribbon to compliment my blue dress.

Finally the last step to getting ready was makeup. And let me tell you, this was a long and emotional process. I decided to do my own makeup after I was not satisfied with how it turned out last year. I was going off of images I searched on Pinterest which was very hard because a lot of the shots are from professionals. I wanted to do a cool tone look with silver glitter and a berry-mauve lipstick. Below is an image which I based my makeup look off of.

Lastly it was time for photos. My friends and I decided to take our photos at the gorgeous Hall of Springs in Saratoga. It has amazing landscaping and architecture which is perfect for the back ground of photos. Here is one last photo of me and my date. We looked so good I couldn’t help myself and I had to include it!
