Photoshoots With Friends and Location Suggestions

As summer approaches the weather gets warmer, and we begin to have more time on our hands to spend with our friends. One of my favorite things to do with my friends is to have photoshoots. It’s a great way to let out our creativity and get out and see new things. Continue reading for some suggestions on where to have spontaneous photoshoots with your friends too!

  1. Your local state park.

The state park is a great option because they are always very spacious, and have people constantly maintaining them. This means that there will be beautiful landscaping and historic sites that you may not usually see. The photo below was taken at our local park, Saratoga Spa State Park.

2. At the water

This one seems self explanatory, but I figured I would include it anyways. People often forget the beauty of nature and the surroundings in their own town. It’s fun to get out and explore every once and a while and appreciate what is there. In upstate New York, there are plenty of lakes, rivers, ponds and streams beautiful for the background of photos. This photo was taken on a dock on Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs.

3. An art museum

In the northeast, there are plenty of museums for all types of art and history. Not far from the capital region is MASS MoCA. It is a gigantic museum in an old factory that houses all types of creative arts and sculptures. You can make a day trip out of it and get some great photos while looking at phenomenal masterpieces that rotate in an out semiannually.

4. Farm Stand

Farm Stands and Farmers’ Markets are happening every week of the summer! They make a great background to a photo because of all the colors and shapes that are there from vegetables, to flowers, to pastries to sauces. Not only is it a perfect opportunity for a photo op but it is great way to support your local businesses. This photo was taken at a farm stand in the fall but the idea is there.
